Bring the bakery to your kitchen with these homemade maple bacon donuts. Fried to perfection, the sweet and salty treat boasts a deliciously creamy maple glaze as well as crispy, salty bacon bits. Simple to make, this is one dessert recipe that even those without a sweet tooth can enjoy!

Williams Sonoma Glass Mixing Bowl 10-Piece Set

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, ground nutmeg, and ground cinnamon.

In another mixing bowl, combine the eggs and granulated sugar, and mix with a hand blender. Then, add the melted butter and vanilla and mix again.

Next, combine the wet and dry ingredients to form a dough. Pour a little bit of the dry ingredients into the wet and mix, adding more dry ingredients as you go. Add the half-and-half to the wet and dry mixture, once about halfway through the process and once more again when you’re almost done mixing all the dry ingredients into the wet. Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and set aside.

Sprinkle some flour on a surface and knead your dough. Roll it out into a thin layer and create small circles using a cookie cutter. Then, cut out smaller circles inside of your circles to create a donut shape.

Deep fry your donuts in some canola oil, and remove once both sides are crispy and brown.

Make your maple glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk (or half-and-half), maple flavor, and pure vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.

Dip one side of each donut in the glaze and sprinkle some finely chopped cooked bacon on top. Enjoy!
